In historical reenactment contexts, the term medieval society generally refers to a group that reenacts a broad spectrum of medieval activities, rather than fantasy role-play (LARP) or strictly combat reenactment or tournament culture. Notable medieval societies include the Society for Creative Anachronism, the Company of Saynt George, Regia Anglorum and a number of Norse societies. Many of these groups interact with each other, with Renaissance fairs, or with schools or museums on occasion, but most of them tend to host their own events geared toward member participation. Outdoor camping and the domestic routines of daily life in the Middle Ages are often central features of these events.
